When MSC’s cruise ship the Sinfonia docks at Ilha De Mozambique on Christmas Day, Ilha Blue will be there to lay out a fantastic range of shore excursions.

We are suspending our usual program and instead collaborating with local operators to offer a wide range of activities especially suited to the ship’s South African and other international passengers.

To welcome passengers ashore,  the island’s President has arranged Tufo Dancers to do a tradition performance on the pier. Tours of the Museum and Fortaleza will be lead by talented and energetic young guides. Ilha Blue’s sailing dhow, the Edna, will be running hour long cruises along the bustling shoreline taking in the Fortaleza, fish market, Green Mosque, Macuti town and other famous UNESCO sites. Snorkelling on the spectacular reefs that line the entrance to the main beach will be arranged for the adventurous. The more curios can opt for a fun and informative architect guided tour to discover the complexities of preserving the World’s built heritage, visiting private courtyards and showcasing some of the best and worst examples.

When it comes to gastronomic delights, Ilha’s sensational seafood is just the beginning. Restaurants have arranged impressive Christmas Day Buffets with traditional seafood, Portuguese and local speciality dishes (like famous matapa siri siri). There will also be food stalls, local bars and a main venue with music and beach activities. Venue still to be announced.

All activities can be booked onboard the SinfoniaIMG_0512
