Nahota (which means Captain in Enahara, the language of the island) is the name that Selemane is affectionately known as. Selemane has a vast knowledge of Northern Mozambique waters. He has sailed from Angoche to as far north as Tanzania, in and out of all the small bays and inlets.

He is responsible for sailing and maintaining our beautiful Swahili dhow, Edna. Selemane confidently navigates the Edna through the sparkling waters surrounding Ilha de Mozambique. He has a crew of three very competent sailors to help him – Abdul, Renti and Sumaila. Together they will take you to see the humpback whales, snorkel at Sete Paus island or the shipwreck at Goa and finish off the day with a magnificent Sunset Sail. Selemane has 13 children and lives in Jambessi, just on the other side of the bridge. He rides his bike to and from work everyday.
