Nacala International Airport in Mozambique is expected to start operating in August of this year. This is great news as it should lead to more flight options and hopefully cheaper travel for visitors and residents alike
According to Club of Mozambique the work will be finished by the end of the first quarter of 2015. Nacala airport will be capable of receiving Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft and there will be 16 check-in desks and two departure lounges. On peak days it is expected to process 1,240 passengers
At present most visitors touch down at busy Nampula. Nacala Airport however is closer to Ilha de Mozambique and situated on the coast, meaning less road travel and more time to holiday.
