Ilha Blue’s special holiday season program

It's holiday season and we know that when its time to celebrate “everyone loves a beach”

This season we are making it easier and more affordable to experience the wonders of historic Ilha de Mozambique, the surrounding archipelago and sparkling tropical seas.

Cocktails on Goa

2 times a day to Goa Island

There’s no better place to soak up the sun than the white sands and aqua marine sea of Goa Island. Everyday between the 26th December and 3rd January Ilha Blue will be sailing to Goa Island twice in the morning and returning twice in the afternoon. This way you can choose a half or full day excursion. And, at only 1000mts per person, 600mts for kids you can afford to do it more than once.

To this you can add the option of:

  • freshly prepared seafood lunch

  • shipwreck snorkel on the Kathiawar Wreck

  • overnight camp in our spacious one or two person tents.

  • cold drinks

Sunset sailing with drinks and snacks

Famous sunset sail

We have also made changes to this sunset dhow trip which departs everyday at 16:00 from the Pontáo and allows you to experience the island from the perspective of the early seafarers, also enjoy a cooling swim and refreshing drink with snacks as the sun goes down.

Recognising that some people like to drink more than others we’ve reduced the price to 1500mts (which still includes a double cocktail, beers, white wine or chilled fresh mango juice) and made extra drinks available to purchase from our treasure chest bar. The sunset sail is a relaxing experience, a photographers dream and a friendly social event, what better way to end an active day or begin a fun-filled evening.

Relaxing on the Edna with the Nankumi alongside

Your own private dhow

Book either the Edna or the Nankumi for the day and make your very own island-hop sailing adventure. With your own dhow you have total freedom to go wherever and whenever you want, just you, your family/friends adrift around the islands. It takes the beauty of a traditional wooden dhow with billowing sail and Swahili crew to capture the romance and authentic island spirit. Edna and Nankumi are big boats with room to move around, they have wooden deck for lounging, no other boat can match them for elegance, comfort and style. Sailing is special, but we also have a reliable motor that we use when the situation requires it.

Private Dhows work best for groups of around 8 to 18 and can cost as little as 1500mts p.p. for a full day. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Busy streets of Stonetown

Historical Bike Tours

Go with a UNESCO trained guide to learn all there is to know about this fascinating place. Avoid the heat and go out early to explore the island by bike. 6 or 7 in the morning is a fascinating time to be out and about, especially in Makuti town where you can see it slowly coming to life and Stonetown where the first dhows arrive from Cabeceira.

Evening bike tours can also be arranged. Its a great way to fit in to the slow tempo of island life

Rent a bike and explore at your own pace

Bike Rental

A fun and easy way to get around, hire a bike for an hour or a day and explore at your own pace. We have kids BMX bikes, and a proper seat for toddlers.

We will be setting up more rental point so you can start in one location and finish in the other. Look for the Rent Aqui sign wherever you go.

Baobab dhow safari and Kayaking adventures are also available, just ask!
